Technical term depth detection

Depth detection is executed with a ground drilling installation or cone penetration (as opposed to surface detection), allowing for the lowering of a detection gauge into the ground. This is the elected option when:

  • the UXO are expected to be present at great depth in the soil;
  • the top soil is contaminated with metals (e.g. furnace slack);
  • detection is required under existing structures without breaking the down (by means of inclined drilling).
